where was your last vacation

spain, in a gangsters sons villa

no joke

Told Tom myself of your predicament (in his newspost)... and your corner of NG looks better already! Cheers!

Thanks, I should have done it myself lol. I just didnt think it was possible since wade didnt do it, but wade seems to hate me anyway. I wonder what the problem even was.

wade seems to hate me too

maybe because i called him a tosser off-site once

or twice

he hates me because of a thead I made once I think

Wade's a rather acerbic sort... I got the impression he's the fireman of NG. Can't imagine how many PM's come in to the staff on a daily basis.
I know after last years redesign, I lost almost all my favorites, and I'm still finding an artist or two that was once on my list. How did you fare during the redesign?

Well I still dont like this design as much as the old one, especially since the level icons arent even cool anymore. I didnt lose anything during the redesign though.

Id hate to lose all of my favourites like you though, thatd be really annoying. I like to go back to stuff I havent seen for ages and watch it or play it again.

Nah, I don't like it either... seems to waste a lot space. It's like trying to use kiddie scissors.

I met a few guys who lost their entire Art section! I archive a few NG pages, but nothing that would've helped :\

They lost all their art or just their favourites? pretty stupid that this happened at all to be honest

Oh, and happy belated 7th anniversary! When did you start getting into the internet?
I saw it in the last year of High School 89'-90'.. the only place I could go, was the NY stock exchanges server, which had movie reviews, some general information and of course, stock prices and exchange info.
In 1995, I got a real PC, a Pentium 1, Pro 200 mhz, rig. The web had a wild ride in the 20th century.... very free and vibrant with human activity.

I started getting the internet in the 90s, I cant remember which year exactly. I remember all the flash games and everything that I used to play all the time, especially on here.

I used to have certain days (late 90's), where I'd go from portal entry #1, to whatever it was.... kinda gave up after 200-300 entries were on Tom's server.. in his little apartment, begging us to click the pron links to keep the ISP paid off. Still shocked he invited me to Pico Day.... wonder if I'll get invited again next year..

How far NG has come since those days! Id like to see you try and browse all of them now.

Eh, the front-end looks prettier, a bit more functionality, but it's basically the same.
Well... I wouldn't want to wade through more recent crap on the server, crap that should've been blammed with extreme prejudice... Besides, you couldn't see me doing that anyway; I'm in the colonies and you're on the subcontinent :|

yeah a lot of it is crap these days, I dont even bother using the flash portal except to do the 5 a day

what exactly is bum fodder

fodder is something that is easily killed

a bum is a bum

an old acquaintance of mine got a shard of glass stuck in his urethra once

i don't even like to think about the look on his face when he tries to take a piss

How did he even manage that?

must've fallen out of a window and landed on his stomach

must have been pretty nasty

im glad I dont fall out of windows

My Pop was pedaling a bicycle barefoot, when he pant leg got sucked up into the gear. Foot and lower leg got infected bad. Doc said amputate, but gramma churned the shit out of milk, skimmed off the clear stuff on top, made a poultice, saved his leg - she made vitamin E before there were antibiotics

Thats pretty lucky, not many people would know how to save a leg from infection. Was it one of those recipies handed down through generations or something?

Just a little trial and error on a horse and mule beforehand I think, sometime in the 1930's
Times may have been more desperate back then, but there was community and a freedom to try things.

Well 1930s america wasnt all that great of a time I supposse

LE IT TAKES MAGIC TO INSTALL ATI DRIVERS.>>?//??? XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

XXXXXXXXDDDDDDDDDDDD

I just thought it was slightly funny because it fit my previous experiences with their drivers lol

Also 38 days now

nvidia isn't all that much better

True, they have their ups and downs but in the end theyre pretty much the same unless you need to mine bitcoins or crack a password or something. the drivers arent so bad anymore either

I prefer more diversity in video card manufacturers, even though the game developers used to get some fierce headaches... having only 2 companies now kinda kills the magic of it all, same with CPU makers.

Well Intel makes cards too, but only for laptops, and of course they suck.

And its not like theyre not trying to innovate I suppose, its just the prices arent coming down.

innovation is the snake oil of the gaming industry these days

old quote but i mean look at xbox one and ps4, granted the ps4 will probably kick the xbox one and wii-u to oblivion without even trying unless xbox one brings the greatest exclusives ever known to mankind

Yeah and they arent even innovating technically wise, and all games go on all platforms these days. PC is definitely going to get even more massive within the next few years, as its easily the best to play any one game on and you dont have to put up with shit that the companies do as they have a stranglehold over their own consoles.

Some of the smarter kids are starting for forsake the console for the PC, which kinda makes sense, but most kids don't trade in their console games when they've beaten the pants off them.... PC games always run better over time, console games don't.

Not to mention the keyboard and mouse is better. Its just a shame that it seems some really good console exclusives are staying on console, such as Halo 3. The PC has more games than any generation of consoles put together, though.

I started out with 2 different versions of Pong, the Atari 2600 (including Adventure, ET, Pitfall Harry), then a Colecovision, then a TI/99 4A....After the computer/console glut of the 1980's, I stood on the sidelines for a while, then got an Apple IIc, which wasn't much better.
Too bad all of that pricey junk could now fit on a smartphone....

Its funny thinking about how slow it all was compared to now. How fast was the processor and stuff in your apple?
